My previous article was about the way internet marketers boost their website’s link popularity by placing text links on high ranked websites and I gave an example of a PR5 – Web Directory which specialises in offering permanent high quality and cheap text links.   Today, I am going to share with you my views about another topic: using multiple domains to boost your internet success.

Recently, I overheard a colleague criticising people who acquire more than one domain. In his eyes, those people are simply greedy or irrational. He has bought his domain name a few months ago through http://www.goahead.wsand he is happy to have one website while enjoying at the same time some extra income by recommending his friends to the same registration company. Eventually, I drew his attention on the fact that most of the people I know who do or intend to do serious business on internet have multiple domains and for very good reasons.

That gave me an idea of writing this article in order to share with others, the advantages of registering many domain names.

So, why should anyone register more than one domain name? Many think that one should be enough. But those who try to see into the future see it otherwise.

Registering and using multiple domains helps you to:

– Keep your competition from registering a domain name that would draw customers to them instead of you.
– Present, promote and market the different products and services you offer or might offer in the future.
– Use those different domains to drive more traffic to your different websites.
– Create more opportunities for your business to be listed in the search engines.
– Create distinct advertising strategies that reach different target markets.
– Provide your customers with more ways to find you when searching the Internet.
– Capture common misspellings of your domain name, instead of sending visitors to an error page.
– Protect your brand and your online identity.

In fact, registering and using more than one domain name is a great idea for anyone who wants to solidly build his online business. Registering domain names costs only a few dollars per year. So, anyone thinking about building a really dynamic online identity should offer that idea a serious consideration.
